HASSAN: At least five people are in serious condition while five others suffered minor injuries after a KSRTC bus crashed into a tree near Gijihalli in Arasikere taluk on Friday as the driver lost control.

The bus from Puttur depot was heading toward Madikeri when the driver lost control and hit a tree on the roadside. As a result of the collision, the front portion of the bus was completely mangled.

The injured were treated at Arasikere Taluk Hospital and then referred to Hassan District Hospital for further treatment.

Upon getting information, MLA KM Shivalingegowda visited the accident site and the hospital and inquired about the well‑being of the injured. Officers from Arasikere Rural police station visited and conducted an inspection.
