A trading card shop in SoHo owned by football legend Tom Brady was robbed of almost $10,000 worth of Pokémon cards and baseball cards, and police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the thief.
The incident happened just before noon on Oct. 20, when the crook entered the Lafayette St. store and tricked the cashier into thinking he had paid for the merchandise, police said. After his credit card was declined, the crook entered prompts into the terminal, manually overriding the system without the employee’s knowledge, according to police.
The suspect made off with roughly $9,710 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards, cops said.
