Star India pacer Mohammed Siraj has revealed that he pleaded with Test skipper Shubman Gill to let him bowl one over, after he was given a lengthy break due to an expensive opening spell and to his credit, he went on to pick two wickets in that one over.
Siraj showed marked improvement in his second spell, though he still was not operating at the level of ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who troubled the Protea batters every time he had the ball.
The momentum shifted in the second session when Siraj switched ends, taking over Bumrah’s end and finding more assistance, though the wickets column remained unchanged for the moment.
After three overs in his third spell, Gill considered turning to spin, understandable with four spinners in the XI, but Siraj asked for one more
