The Congress won six out of the 61 seats it contested in the Assembly elections in Bihar, the Election Commission data showed at 9 pm.

This was one of the worst performances of the party in the state.

During the 2020 Assembly polls, the Congress won 19 seats , whereas in 2010, it managed to clinch only four seats in the state.

In the 2025 elections, the Congress’ Mohammad Qamrul Hoda won the Kishanganj seat with a margin of more than 12,000 votes. In Manihari, Manohar Prasad Singh won by over 15,000 votes while Abidur Rahman had a margin of over 12,000 votes in Araria.

The margins were far slimmer in Valmiki Nagar, where Surendra Prasad won by 1,675 votes. In Chanpatia, Abhishek Ranjan won by just 602 votes and Manoj Bishwas won by only 221 votes in Forbesganj.
