The Met Office has issued an update on the areas of the UK likely to be affected by severe weather over the coming days, as the country braces for Storm Claudia to bring "up to a month's worth of rain in 24 hours" .
Storm Claudia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Service, Aemet, due to ongoing impacts in Canary Islands, could cause potential flooding, power cuts and travel disruption, according to the Met Office .
Having issued a number of weather warnings across the UK in the run up to Storm Claudia hitting the country, the Met Office has now extended its warnings to include more parts of northern England.
The weather agency has now extended an amber rain warnings to include more parts of northern England including the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.
