Supreme Court Ruling Expected

A Nebraska Supreme Court ruling is expected Friday in connection with the murder of a Marquette woman.

Jeffrey Adams, 50, was sentenced to life in prison for the 2023 strangulation death of his wife Angela. Court records show she died after the pair had an argument following a night of drinking. Adams appealed his conviction, arguing that the trial judge should not have allowed evidence of prior violence at trial and that the jury should have been allowed to consider self-defense. Adams also argued that his trial should have been held outside Hamilton County. The Supreme Court is expected to hand down its ruling at 9 a.m.
