3Jackson Township Council President Mordechai Burnstein would like to remind residents that he and newly elected Councilman Christopher Pollak will jointly host a community food drive at Town Hall this Sunday.
The food drive comes in response to the recent interruption of SNAP benefits caused by the federal government shutdown. Despite payments now being reinstated, many Jackson families are still struggling to catch up.
According to Fulfill, the statewide food bank that recently visited Jackson, an estimated 3,800 Township families rely on SNAP assistance.
Residents are encouraged to participate by donating canned goods and other non-perishable food items only .
The donations will be delivered to the Jackson Food Pantry for distribution to residents in need.
