VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) - One person is recovering after a fire at a duplex in Vancouver Thursday night.
Around 11:15 p.m., the Vancouver Fire Department responded to a home on Southeast Morgan Road near Middle Way.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the duplex. Flames spread to the attic, and crews had to cut holes in the roof to release smoke and heat.
A total of 30 firefighters were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes.
One person had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
At one point an energized power line came down near the building, but no one else was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
