The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is heading for a historic win in Bihar with trends showing it is well on its way to bag a massive 205 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. Counting is currently underway for the Assembly polls, which was held in two phases on November 6 and 11.

At the centre of the sweeping mandate appears to be ‘M’ or the mahila factor, with women voters outnumbering men in the recent Bihar Assembly elections.

At the heart of the ‘mahila’ wave were targeted welfare schemes – from Rs 10,000 cash deposits under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana to the Jeevika Didi scheme, aimed at the social and economic empowerment of the rural poor.
