Terri Sewell is angry.
During an interview with the Alabama Politics This Week podcast, the eight-term U.S. Representative from Alabama’s 1st congressional district was uncharacteristically animated and pointed in her comments after eight Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to end a 42-day government shutdown without concessions from Republicans.
Sewell called the deal “empty promises,” said her Senate colleagues “caved” and called Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer a poor leader.
