A dog shot a man in an accident at a Pennsylvania home, according to multiple reports.
The incident occurred Tuesday at the unnamed man’s home in Shillington, Berks County, ABC reports. The Shillington Police Department responded to a residence around 11:13 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Police said they found a 53-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back. NBC said he was on the floor but conscious.
The man reportedly told police he was cleaning a shotgun when he put the weapon down on his bed. When he sat down on the bed, the dog jumped onto it, causing the gun to discharge, striking the man in the lower back.
He was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries, according to ABC.
