People are “transvestigating” Charlie Kirk and his recent widow Erika, with online posts circulating that claim both members of the former couple were, and are, trans.
The term transvestigating – a mash-up of trans and investigating – refers to conspiracy theories that falsely claim individuals, typically women, are transgender and are hiding their “true” gender identity, Star Observer reports.
Conspiracy theories around Erika Kirk began shortly after her husband was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on 10 September.
Users across social media began claiming that her features, including her “long torso”, “low set ears” and thigh gap mean she is trans.
