Nine public schools and two private schools in New Jersey have received the state’s new Blue Ribbon Schools Award, officials said.
The state program is a successor to the longtime National Blue Ribbon Schools program , which the Trump administration and the U.S. Department of Education ended in August after 43 years.
The state Department of Education decided to pick up the program and honor the 11 schools that had been selected prior to the national program’s cancellation, state officials said.
Three schools are in Bergen County and two schools are in Jersey City, in Hudson County. The others are in Atlantic, Camden, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
New Jersey’s 2025 winners are:
Audubon — Mansion Avenue School, Audubon Public School District
East Brunswick — Hatikva
