MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa ( WOI ) - A Marshalltown Community School District employee was arrested Thursday amid an investigation into an alleged relationship with a student.
The Marshalltown Police Department said the investigation that began November 7 led to the arrest of Stacy Galema, 35, of Marshalltown.
Officials say relationship lasted from 2014 until 2019. Galema is listed on the Marshalltown CSD website as a High School Athletic Assistant.
She faces two charges of sexual exploitation by a school employee, one as a felony and the other as an aggravated misdemeanor, along with a charge of lascivious conduct with a minor, a serious misdemeanor.
Marshalltown police said the investigation is ongoing, and Galema has been placed on administrative leave by the school district.
