As much of Northern California remains damp Friday after the bulk of a Thursday storm moves out, another weather system will arrive late this weekend, bringing with it more widespread rain and light snow.
Rain
There may still be lingering showers in parts of the region Friday, but most of the steady rain has already passed.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, these are the rain totals so far:
Sacramento: 1.43 inches
Marysville: 1.21 inches
Fairfield: 1.04 inches
Modesto: 0.85 inches
Stockton: 0.72 inches
Snow
Cooler air will drain in Thursday night into Friday morning, dropping the snow level to about 6,500 feet, but at this point, moisture will be running out. A couple of slushy inches of snow is expected over the Tahoe summits Thursday night into Friday morning. This could be enough for chain
