Michigan voters are linking higher grocery prices to President Donald Trump 's tariffs , according to a new poll released Friday, Nov. 14. The results offer a potentially bleak outlook for the Republican Party in next year's midterm elections, particularly if voters are motivated by economic factors.
In the poll, conducted by EPIC-MRA of Lansing, 64% of 600 respondents said tariffs on products from other countries — a favored economic tool of Trump in the first year of his second term in the White House — have caused price increases. Another 29% said prices have remained the same, while 2% say prices have decreased as a result of the tariffs.
More than half of respondents said the national economy has faltered, with 51% saying the economy has gotten worse, compared to 24% saying it
