BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - We’retracking some messy weather on the way this weekend. Ahead of rain, freezing rain, andsnow,we have issued a First Alert Weather Day for Sunday. Most of the wintry weather and potential impacts are expected on Sunday.

Timing:

Rain and freezing rain will begin moving into northern New York after sunset on Saturday, reaching the Vermont border around 8pm. The messy precipitation will continue to move through our region overnight into Sunday. Through Sunday morning we’ll see rain transitioning over to snow. The snow flurries will likely linger into Monday before tapering off.

Temperatures will also be dropping through Sunday. The warmest part of the day will be the first thing in the morning, then we’ll see temperatures dropping through the 30s. Highs will stay
