NorthPark, the proposed 7,400-acre development that could include the expansion of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s campus, cleared a hurdle Nov. 13 after a unanimous recommendation of approval from the North Gateway Village Planning Committee.

The committee, which serves as an advisory body to the Phoenix City Council, voted to recommend the Council approve the project, despite staunch opposition from residents who live in the area. The site is located south of Loop 303, west of Interstate 17, directly south of land already owned by TSMC.
