Following on from last year's excellent Black Ops 6, Call of Duty has some pretty big shoes to fill with Black Ops 7 hitting consoles as of today. It's going up against some heavy competition with the likes of Battlefield 6 currently taking the shooter scene by storm, but there appears to be a lot to love for die-hard fans of the classic shooter.

For one, the setting is returning to the near future as a spiritual successor to 2012's Black Ops 2. Its campaign picks up with the character of David Mason as he goes up against the villainous Raul Menendez.

There's also a healthy multiplayer offering with 16 different 6v6 maps at launch, plus another two 20v20 maps to mess around with. Zombies fans are in for a treat too with the mode returning once again [via Daily Recor
