FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia election interference case against President Donald Trump has a prosecutor once again.
After Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis was disqualified from the case , the Georgia Prosecuting Attorneys' Council (PAC) was tasked with finding a replacement to lead the sprawling RICO case against Trump and more than a dozen co-defendants.
On Friday, the organization's executive director Pete Skandalakis announced he had appointed himself to the job.
The decision, he noted in a statement to press, reflected his "inability to secure another conflict prosecutor to assume responsibility for this case."
"Several prosecutors were contacted," he added. "While all were respectful and professional, each declined the appointment."
