DFL state Rep. Heather Keeler will run for Congress in a challenge to Republican U.S. Rep. Michelle Fischbach in a district representing a wide swath of western Minnesota.
Keeler, 43, lives in Moorhead and announced on social media that she is running for the 7th Congressional District seat. First elected to the state House of Representatives in 2020, Keeler co-chairs the Human Services Finance and Policy Committee.
The former educator and advocate touted policies she helped advance at the Capitol, including efforts to address homelessness and expand access to nutrition assistance. She is an enrolled member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe.
