West Lothian residents could 'smell burning' after a bus went up in flames on Friday afternoon.

The blaze broke out at around 12.45pm on November 14, with emergency services called to Blackness Road in Linlithgow near the junction with Springfield Road. Unconfirmed local reports suggest there have not been any casualties.

The E&M Horsburgh bus was seen being recovered from the scene later in the afternoon. Images show the vehicle with its back badly damaged by the flames and windows gone.

Drivers were stopped by police as the vehicle was recovered. Locals reported the vehicle was carrying schoolchildren at the time who escaped the blaze along with the driver. There were no initial reports of injuries.
