CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — A man will spend the rest of his life in prison on a conviction of attempted murder and other charges for shooting at Carroll County sheriff's deputies during a chase last year .

According to a release from West Georgia Judicial Circuit DA Sarah Stimac Japour, Brenton Chase was found guilty on several counts, among them also aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing and attempting to elude, in a trial back in September.

He was sentenced Wednesday to 125 years to serve in the Georgia Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole.

The release said on August 22, Chase was driving a stolen car and attempted to strike the chief of police in Whitesburg, setting off the chase that brought in Carroll County sheriff's deputies.
