The Joint Committee on Legislative Services will meet on Nov. 14, and discuss a potential audit into Rhode Island's housing bureaucracy.
House GOP leader Michael Chippendale called for an an audit of Rhode Island Housing in September, saying that it is bloated and inefficient.
Chippendale said that RI Housing spends $417 per 10,000 residents, the highest per capita amount in New England. It also has the most employees per capita in New England.
At the time, RI Housing CEO Carol Ventura characterized the criticism as "political talking points" that "mischaracterize and malign the work of an industry and agency that continues to deliver thousands of affordable homes to our state amid a historic housing crisis."
