Patna: While Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav survived a scare and managed to retain the Raghopur seat, his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav lost from the Mahua constituency in the Bihar Assembly elections, the results of which were declared on Friday.

Tej Pratap, who was expelled from the RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav earlier this year, floated his own party Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) and contested the elections. ADVERTISEMENT

In a major disappointment, Tej Pratap ended in third position from Mahua, a seat he had won quite comfortably in 2015 when contesting on an RJD ticket.
