PORTSMOUTH — The Seacoast Repertory Theatre is scheduled to present "Elf the Musical" for the holiday season, with showing scheduled for Nov. 13 to Dec. 21, according to a community announcement.
"Elf" is based on the 2003 New Line Cinema film and features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. The book is written by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin.
The story follows Buddy, a young orphan who accidentally ends up at the North Pole after crawling into Santa's bag of gifts. Raised as an elf, Buddy eventually discovers he is human due to his size and lack of toy-making skills. With Santa's blessing, he travels to New York City to find his birth father and learn about his true identity.
