CALEDONIA, MI - After closing on Friday due to illness, Caledonia Public Schools officials said elementary students and staff can plan to return on Monday, following a deep-cleaning and disinfecting effort.

Caledonia Elementary School announced on Thursday evening that the building would be closed on Friday, Nov. 14, due to illness. Other district schools remained open.

Kelly Clark, the district’s communications coordinator, said the school is closed to reduce the spread of illness and allow for additional cleaning.

“Our custodial team has been thoroughly disinfecting classrooms and common areas using hospital-grade disinfectants,” she said. “And they are completing additional deep cleaning during the closure.”

“We plan to have students and staff return on Monday,” she said.
