CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee — The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Middle Tennessee Rep. Jeff Burkhart passed away on Friday.
He was found in his home around 7:15 a.m. by officers responding to a dispatch call, the sheriff's office said.
Burkhart represented House District 75 , which covers part of Montgomery County, and was currently serving his second term.
Rep. Ronnie Glynn (D-Clarksville) said that Burkhart spent three terms on the city council, served on the Montgomery County Education Foundation and was an assistant fire chief for the Clarksville Fire Department before he ran in the 2022 election.
