A man has been jailed and banned from driving after he led officers on a 15-minute pursuit and clocked more than 100mph on rural roads. Alfred Stanley, 45, made off after seeing a police patrol car as he drove out of a building site in Ugg Mere Court Road, Ramsey Heights, near Ramsey, in the early hours of October 5.
He drove at speeds of 110mph on rural roads, swerved in front of cars, drove through red lights, and went the wrong way round a roundabout. After 15 minutes, he finally came to a stop and reversed into the police car in Lincoln Road, Werrington, Peterborough .
Checks on police systems revealed he had been disqualified from driving until October 22 after he accrued 21 points on his licence. His vehicle was also uninsured.
