COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) said the total number of measles cases in the Upstate outbreak has gone up.
Officials said one person was reported on Friday, Nov. 14. This brings the total cases to 44 in the Upstate and 47 in the state,
Potential exposures for this case are still being investigated.
The DPH said there are currently 18 people in quarantine.
“The successful early quarantining as a result of an identified exposure is a positive public health outcome that has prevented additional community spread during this outbreak,” officials said.
