GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV) - A man was arrested after he threatened several TriMet employees with a knife in Gresham early Friday morning, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly after 1 a.m., deputies responded to a report from TriMet that a man had a knife and threatened employees near Northwest Burnside Court and Northwest Eleven Mile Avenue. TriMet asked the man to leave but he refused.
TriMet security also asked the man to leave and sprayed him with pepper spray when he refused.
Deputies, along with Gresham and Portland police officers, responded to the scene. Over an hour and a half, authorities attempted to engage with the man.
The sheriff’s office said the man refused to comply and threatened to kill officers and deputies on scene.
