The qualification list for the 2026 World Cup continues to grow.
The tournament has 48 qualifying spots, and 29 of them have been claimed. This is the largest World Cup tournament ever, jumping from the 32 teams that participated in Qatar in 2022 to the 48 we will see next year.
FIFA's November international window is in full swing, with a majority of matches taking place in Europe this week. A total of 16 teams from Europe will qualify.
World Cup hosts United States, Canada and Mexico are automatically in the tournament. CONCACAF has at least three more spots available, and two of those might be known during this November window.
