NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- City Council is expected to approve a new three-year contract with Chagrin Valley Engineering.
The Oakwood company provides North Olmsted with City Engineer Jeffrey J. Filarski.
Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones said having an outside entity provide engineering services -- something the city has done for more than a decade -- has proved beneficial over an in-house department.
“Chagrin Valley Engineering comes with a lot of the specialties that each person in the firm can bring to the table,” she said.
“So if there is a certain project, then we’re able to rely on that firm to bring more of a breadth of education and specialties to the projects.
“That’s the benefit of having hired an engineering firm.”
