ST PAUL, Minn. — New details have emerged from charging documents filed in connection with a fatal crash in St. Paul on Wednesday.
According to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, 22-year-old Musab Kosar was charged Thursday with one count of criminal vehicular homicide following the death of 31-year-old Benjamin Villano, who was killed when the men's vehicles collided in the intersection of Dale Street and Concordia Avenue.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m., according to prosecutors. They said the incident started after a Minnesota State Patrol trooper began pursuing a Tesla Model 3, driven Kosar, that was going 84 mph in a 55 mph zone. The criminal complaint alleges Kosar increased his speed to 100 mph and turned off his lights as he approached the Dale Street exit off of Intersta
