Tram services are set to be disrupted all weekend after heavy winds brought down a tree on a Metrolink line.

There have been no trams operating between Bury and Whitefield stations for most of the day after the tree fell on the line.

Now Metrolink bosses have said that it will take 'most of the weekend' for the issue to be resolved.

People wanting to travel between the two stations are instead being advised to take the bus, with Metrolink tickets being accepted on buses.

Tickets will be accepted on the following services: 90, 95, 97, 98, 135, 512, 513 and 524.
