ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man has died after he was found shot at Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall on Thursday, according to police.
At around 4:45 p.m., an off-duty police officer responded to a shooting outside the mall by the Food Court and found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
The man was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
It is believed that the shooting was the result of a verbal dispute between strangers. Police said a possible suspect was “detained without incident.” Additionally, police told Atlanta News First that an off-duty officer was inside the mall working an extra job, who then responded quickly and was able to spot and detain a potential suspect.
That suspect was taken to Atlanta Police Headquarters for questioning.
