BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Boone County are investigating after a crash killed one Indiana National Guardsmen and injured three more on Interstate 65 Friday.
The crash was reported around 12:15 p.m. Nov. 14 along southbound I-65 near I-865. The highway was back open at 4:20 p.m.
A spokesperson with the Indiana National Guard said the guardsmen were heading to Camp Atterbury for drill weekend.
According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, the crash involved one Humvee and two civilian vehicles.
"The loss of any of our Guardsmen is tragic, and we offer deepest and heartfelt condolences to the soldier's families, loved ones and friends," a National Guard spokesperson said in a statement.
