Surrey police are searching for a man accused of groping a child in a public area. The incident occurred on September 17, around 7:15 p.m., when a 10-year-old girl was at a business located in the 7100-block of 138th Street. According to the Surrey Police Service, the man approached the girl and allegedly grabbed her buttocks before fleeing the scene. The girl reported the sexual assault to authorities approximately 45 minutes later. In an effort to identify the suspect, police released an image of him on Friday. The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years old and approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, dark overalls, and a light-colored cap. He also had a cross-body bag and was using over-ear headphones. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to reach out.
