MAGNA — On Thursday, a suspect in a shooting from last week was arrested in Magna.

According to Det. Alvarez, with the South Salt Lake Police Department , officers were monitoring the suspect from South Salt Lake to Magna. Officers were first deployed to the suspect’s house in Riverton, but continued to monitor the suspect to Magna.

Officers initiated a traffic stop in Magna near 3500 S. 8400 W.

At that point, the man barricaded himself in the vehicle.

Unified Police Department’s SWAT team was called out to help. No shots were fired during the arrest, and no injuries have been reported.

There were also no fatalities from the shooting last week.

The investigation is ongoing, and the age of the suspect has not been provided.
