The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has updated a plan to rehabilitate a bridge on Derry Street in Swatara Twp. and Paxtang Borough.
The public is invited to comment online on the project that initially was expected to be rebuilt in two stages. PennDOT has added a potential three-stage plan.
The bridge is over the Spring Creek between Wilhelm Road and Rosewood Lane.
The project will include replacing bridge beams, the bridge deck, repairing the northeast wing wall and rehabilitating the abutments. The bridge will be reconstructed in stages while maintaining two-way traffic.
Trucks will be detoured from the road because of narrow lanes.
PennDOT said when the bridge beams are removed and new ones installed, there will be full closure for up to six weekends.
