GREENSBORO, N.C. — North Carolina A&T just received a record-breaking $63 million gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, the largest in the school’s history. Combined with her $45 million donation in 2020, Scott has now given a total of $108 million to the university.

Chancellor James R. Martin II announced the gift during Friday’s Board of Trustees meeting, calling it “transformational” for the university’s mission, academic programs, and long-term growth.

The donation is unrestricted, giving NC A&T flexibility to use it where it’s needed most — from student success programs to research in engineering, agriculture, health sciences, and data science. It also helps the university push toward top research university status and expands its national impact.
