The Lambton-Kent Cardinals got the shots they wanted in the SWOSSAA senior girls’ A basketball final.
They just didn’t fall in Thursday’s 42-30 loss to the Windsor Lajeunesse Royal at Lambton-Kent Composite School.
“Their shots didn’t want to go down tonight,” Cardinals head coach Sara Weed said.
Sophia Metcalfe scored 11 points and Julia Pegg added 10 for the Cardinals, who were undefeated in the LKSSAA season.
Local teams went 1-for-4 in the SWOSSAA senior boys’ volleyball and senior girls’ basketball finals this week.
VOLLEYBALL: The Ursuline Lancers were the lone winners, sweeping the St. Joseph’s Lasers 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-13) in the boys’ AAA volleyball championship Tuesday in Windsor.
They’re headed to the OFSAA tournament Nov. 20-22 in Kanata and Dunrobin near Ottawa.
