At 12:23 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory valid from Saturday 4 p.m. until Sunday 1 a.m. for St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.
The weather service says, "Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch."
"Difficult travel conditions are possible," explains the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury."
