A man was seriously injured in a fall from the roof of a moving bus traveling toward New Hampshire on Interstate 95 in Maine on Friday, police said.
The man, a 35-year-old from New York, was expected to survive the fall in Kittery, Maine State Police said. He was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Witnesses told investigators that the man said he felt hot before opening the emergency exit hatch on the roof of the Concord Coach bus and climbing up, according to police. They said the driver slowed down and tried to pull over to the side of the Maine Turnpike, but the man fell onto the road.
He landed on the shoulder of the road. People on the bus and drivers got out to help the man, according to police.
