A multi-agency investigation into a Metro Area drug trafficking organization led to two arrests and the seizure of an estimated 620 pounds of high-grade marijuana, authorities said.

According to Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey, the case began Wednesday evening, Nov. 12, 2025, when Puckett Police stopped a Chevrolet Suburban on Highway 18 in Rankin County and discovered approximately 120 pounds of marijuana. Puckett officers then contacted investigators with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office and the Rankin/City of Madison Interdiction Task Force, launching a follow-up investigation.

Investigators developed information that a large supply of high-grade marijuana was being stored in the Metro Area and distributed to multiple locations across Mississippi.
