Syracuse, N.Y. — On the cusp of his team’s Section III Class B football semifinal against Vernon Verona Sherrill last week, Institute of Technology Central football coach Raquan Pride-Green thought it was appropriate to ask his team to look backwards.

The targeted memory came exactly one year ago, when his team was getting ready for a semi against New Hartford amidst a much different atmosphere. Then, the Eagles were trying to keep their focus locked amid the swirl of a court case that threatened to end their season over the use of a potentially ineligible player.
