Cockburn ARC users who want to bring their own physiotherapists now have to pay to do so.

Since September 15, physiotherapists who are not part of Cockburn ARC’s Lifecare, Rehab or Revive memberships have to buy a physio casual pass for $8.40 when accompanying clients into the gym or aquatics areas.

The City of Cockburn council was told at its October 14 meeting this has increased costs for people on the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Previously, external physiotherapists could use the centre without charge when accompanying clients.

Matthew Woodthorpe told the council it had roughly doubled the cost for NDIS participants who brought their own physios.

“The only long-term option now is a three-month lump sum payment for rehab memberships,” he said.
