NORTHWOOD, Iowa – Rumors of guns at school are being investigated in Worth County.

Northwood-Kensett Community Schools says it responded to comments from students on Thursday.

The school district has issued the following statement on the matter:

“Towards the end of the school day yesterday, reports were made to staff and administration of students making comments of concern about firearms at school in our middle and high school. School administration investigated the concerns and included the Worth County Sheriff Department in the investigation, which entailed school administration and law enforcement conducting threat assessments and inspection of school campuses.
