Two families are suing ByHeart after their 4-month-old daughters developed infantile botulism from the company's recalled baby formula .
Stephen and Yurany Dexter in Arizona said their daughter, Rose, had to be flown by air ambulance to a children's hospital two hours away from her family's home and treated for weeks back in August.
Piper Everett from Kentucky was rushed to the hospital last week with worsening symptoms, according to her parents, Michael and Hanna.
The lawsuits were filed in federal courts in the two separate states, claiming ByHeart was negligent in selling the recalled formula.
The rare and potentially deadly disease is part of a nationwide outbreak that has resulted in 83 cases of infant botulism reported since August. ByHeart recalled all of its formula nationwid
