LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Lexington-based lobbying and public relations firm is severing ties with Fayette County Public Schools over alleged concerns about the district’s transparency.
Piper-Smith said it invoked a clause in its lobbying services contract with FCPS to end the agreement between the two groups. The partnership will end on Dec. 31, giving the school district time to find representation before the start of the 2026 General Assembly.
Piper-Smith accused FCPS of struggling “… to provide accurate information to our firm, the press and the general public.” The statement said the challenges made it difficult for Piper-Smith to complete its work.
